Do you have questions about upcoming shows? Ask them here.
I have a subscription. I am confused by the website showing shows I can watch live and shows I have to pay to watch. I thought my subscription allowed me to see all the Kahilu Theatre offerings each month. Please clarify.
Aloha Martha, As we move forward, there will be some content that is available for purchase by anyone and some content that will be exclusively for subscribers. And, in most cases, the live shows available for purchase will be edited and placed into the subscriber library within 30 days of initial airing. This platform allows us to offer both types of content. We certainly realize that it can be confusing so thank you for asking. Just as a note, the upcoming Christmas show called Manual Cinema's A Christmas Carol is exclusively available for purchase. This is a unique situation and will not be the norm with our upcoming Live shows, which will eventually be put in the subscriber library.
I think that when you have said "highlights from these live shows will be released into the subscriber library within 30 days of initial airing", that I can expect to see the Kalani Pe'a show later in the month without any additional charge as a benefit of my subscription. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding this.
And will I get notified when shows are added to the library? Is there something I need to subscribe to in order to get notified?
Thank you. I have never subscribed to a "tv" or subscription website, am not too comfortable about what to expect.
Hi Wendy,
The short answer to your question is yes. But it gets a little more complicated if we need to remove cover songs that artists may do as part of their set (which we do not have the rights to store). We will make available to subscribers all we can from each live concert, within 30 days of the live airing. To make sure you are notified when new videos are released, you'll want to go to your Account Settings located in the drop-down that appears when you roll-over your first initial in the colored circle in the top right of your Kahilu.TV page. Once in your Settings area, select Emails and then make sure New Videos are checked off. That should do the trick. Please let us know if you have any other questions and happy viewing!
Mimi, thanks for your informative reply.
Good; I had everything ticked under Emails.
Aloha Mimi, when will Jake Shimabukuro's show be up for watching? , missed it last week. Mahalo
