Join us for a memorable evening as blues musician and Grammy award winner Johnny Nicholas and big island music educator Gary Washburn, hit the stage at Kahilu with the Dragon Jazz Band. The Dragon Jazz Band is formed from Washburn’s Honoka’a High School music students and professional musicians in Nicholas’ band. The Dragon Jazz Band, an extension of Nicholas’ Big Band Bash project, encourages, supports, and gives opportunity to music students through mentoring, the experience of performing with professional musicians, his dedication to nurturing students, and appreciation of the true “South Texas/Louisiana Blues.”
This event is a fundraiser for Honoka’a High School Jazz Band.
